Tose, Martin

Born: 1958 Germiston, Transvaal.

A painter, graphic artist and a sculptor of figures, wildlife, genre, landscapes and abstract pieces.  Works in mixed media, acrylic, wash, pencil, charcoal,various graphic media, wood and bronze.

A series of paintings entitled “Bushmans Graffiti”, 1983 a series of sculptures entitled “Conversation”.

Studies: 1975-77 The Open School, Johannesburg, under Nats Mokgosi;

1977-80 Katlehong Art Centre, under

Thato Mamabolo.

Profile: A member of the Katlehong Art Society.  From 1984 has taught sculpture and painting at the Katlehong Art Centre, Transvaal.

Exhibitions:  He has participated in

many group exhibitions from 1978 in SA.

Award: 1978 awarded The Most Promising Sculptor Award from the Ministry of Education, on a Katlehong Art Centre Exhibition
