A printmaker depicting landscapes, interiors and objects revealing aspects of the South African way of life.  1983 a portfolio entitled “Imprints – Man’s Impact on the SA Landscape”, 1985 a portfolio entitled “Shelter”

Studies: 1974-82 Michaelis School of Fine Art, gaining

a BA (FA) in 1979, a Post Graduate Diploma in Etching with distinction in 1980 and an MA (FA) with distinction, in 1983.  For her studies she has been awarded the following scholarships: MacIver 1980, 1981 and 1982; Jules Kramer 1980 and 1982; Human Sciences Research Council Grant 1981; the Hugh and Win Walker Scholarship and the Harold Crossley Travel Grant, enabling her to go on a study tour of the USA and Europe 1981-82

Profile: From 1979 a member of the Artists Guild,

Cape Town.  From 1984 a part time lecturer and MA (FA) Supervisor at the Michaelis School of Fine Art.  From 1985 has held the John Platter wine label commission.  Married to David Brown; daughter

of Cecil Skotnes and sister of John Skotnes.

Exhibitions: She has participated in many group exhibitions from 1980 in SA, the nine solo exhibitions; 1985 Tributaries, touring SA and West Germany;

1987 and 1988 Johannesburg Art Gallery,

Vita Art Now.

 Award: 1987 H G Steyn Award for Excellence.
