Mnguni, Simon

Born: 1885 Entembeni, Stanger, Natal
Died: 1956

Profile: He appears to have begun painting in 1925(although 1941 has also been cited) under patronage of Mrs Winfield (of Smith and Winfield).  He subsequently moved to the Inanda district, but while there became blind.  Assistance from the Natal Bantu Blind Society helped him to regain his sight and he managed to support himself, his blind wife and large family through his watercolour painting.
