Kobeli, Eli

Born: 1932 Kroonstad, Orange Free State

A painter of urban life, figures and abstract pictures.  Works in oil, gouache, watercolour and pastel.

Studies: 1958 Polly Street Art Centre, Johannesburg under Cecil Skotnes also taught by the Reverend Hall Duncan,

an American missionary.

Profile: A member of Artists under the sun.  1971 lived in Kroonstad, returning to Johannesburg in 1977.  He has lived inboth Alexandra and in Soweto, Johannesburg.

Exhibitions: He has participated in group exhibitions in SA, the UK and the USA;

1980 Gallery 21, Johannesburg, solo exhibition;

1982 National Gallery, Gaborone, Botswana, Exhibition of SA Art.
