Jaroszynski, Tadeusz

Born: 1933 Makanska, Yugoslavia
Resided in SA from 1957

A painter with a wide ranging subject matter, including still life, animals, figures and abstract pictures.  Works in many media, particularly oil, gouache, pencil and wash.

Studies: 1953-57 Ateneum, Academy of Fine Arts, Finland, gaining a Diploma.

Profile: A member of the Maison des Artistes, Paris.  Became a full time painter in 1972.  Husband of Karin Jaroszynska.

Exhibitions: He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in SA, France, Switzerland, West Germany, Spain, Yugoslavia, Norway, Monaco and Sweden; 1970 Johannesburg, first of several solo exhibitions held in SA; 1976 University of the Witwatersrand, joint exhibition with Karin Jaroszynska ; 1979 Galerie Romanet, Paris, first solo exhibition held in France.

Award: 1967 First Prize, Transvaal Academy

Represented: Durban Art Gallery; Pietersburg Collection; Pretoria Art Museum; Rand Afrikaans University; Sandton Municipal Collection; SA National Gallery, Cape Town; University of the Witwatersrand.
