Costello, Michael Alan

Born: 1948 Cala, Transkei

A sculptor, painter and graphic artist producing both representational and abstract works.  Uses many media, but most particularly natural woods and oil. 

Studies: East London Technical College under Jack Lugg and Brian Walsh.

Profile: Involved in the writing of prose and poetry, theatre direction and design, as well

as photography.  1969 shared a studio with Raymond Andrews. In 1974 visited the USA, the UK, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Germany;  in 1978 visited the Seychelles.

Exhibitions: He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in SA, Italy, the Seychelles, The Netherlands and USA;

1968 Cala, Transkei, first of 15 solo exhibitions; 1981 Republic Festival Exhibition.

Public Commission:
