Fournier, Real​

Real was born in Victoriaville, Quebec in 1952. He is a self- taught artist with extensive professional and teaching experience. There is a real childlike "joie de vivre" about Réal's work. He explores through his art multiple dimensions. "I now understand why I am painting like that," he says, "it is like I'm living the life of my childhood again”, a childhood he largely missed because of his early years in an orphanage. Ironically, he was first introduced to painting by a talented young boy at the orphanage. Through the imagery he creates, he indicates that “I’m just seeing myself as a happy child. Inside, I get closer to what my dreams say, that I will feel a profound joy to paint who I am." Réal Fournier's artworks can be found in numerous collections across North America and many countries in Europe.
