Hardy Botha

Born: 1947 Kroonstad, Orange Free State

A painter and graphic artist of figures, animals and carnival scenes. Works in oil, lithography and etching. 

Studies: 1967 gained a Diploma in Fine Art from the Orange Free State Technical College.

Profile: A scenery designer for a circus where he also worked as a clown in 1972.
Exhibitions:  He has participated in many group exhibitions in SA, at the Sao Paulo Bienale in Brazil and on exhibition in the USA and in West Germany; 1973 SAAA Gallery, Pretoria, first of several solo exhibitions held in SA; 1979 Cape Town Biennial.
Represented: National Museum, Bloemfontein; Pretoria Art Museum; SA National Gallery, Cape Town; University

of the Orange Free State; University of Stellenbosch.
